Housing Minister urged to make public An Bord Pleanala report

The Housing Minister says its now up to the DPP to decide if a report into practices at An Bord Pleanala should be made public.

The report examined alleged conflicts of interest and relevant disclosures by the then Deputy Chairperson of the planning authority, Paul Hyde, who has since resigned.

Minister Darragh O’Brien confirmed last night that the report has now been handed to Gardai, the Standards in Public Office Commission and the DPP on the advice of the Attorney General.

However the Minister resisted calls to publish the report, saying it’s up to the DPP to decide on whether it can be made public, and whether a criminal prosecution should be undertaken.
