New design for Kilross Junction in progress

Progress has been made on rectifying traffic and road safety issues at the Kilross Junction outside of Ballybofey.

An updated road design has been submitted by Donegal County Council and approved by the TII, aiming to curb the problem of cars avoiding long queues going into Ballybofey by instead turning the opposite direction towards Convoy, then performing U-turns in the middle of the road.

Cathaoirleach of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District Patrick McGowan has raised the issue several times over the last number of years.

He says he’s hopeful the new design will entertain local suggestions that a roundabout eventually be installed there:
