The Chief Executive of the Road Safety Authority is urging motorists and other road users to be extra careful in the vicinity of schools as children prepare for the new academic year.
Sam Wade was speaking after the launch of a new Back to School Initiative by the RSA and An Garda Siochana, with two distinct elements.
The first is implementing variable speed limits and highlighting the need to slow down around schools, the second is a series online educational resources for teachers and students.
