Super sized primary school classes in every county – INTO

Super sized primary school classes exist in every county in Ireland.

That’s according to the INTO, which has called on the Government to reduce average class sizes to the EU average of 20.

The teachers union says current Taoiseach Micheal Martin announced a cap of 30 pupils when he was Education Minister in 1999.

However all but five counties still, 23 years later, have some primary school classes of 35 or more.
