Malachy O’Rourke not for Donegal

Former Ulster winning manager with Monaghan Malachy O’Rourke has ruled himself out of the running for the Donegal Senior Manager’s job.

According to today’s Donegal News, the Fermanagh native is not interested in replacing Declan Bonner as county boss.

The news will come as a blow to Donegal supporters who seen O’Rourke as the strongest name associated with the vacant post.

He is currently in charge of Derry Champions Watty Grahams in Glen Maghera.

Applications closed in mid August but the names and number of applicants and nominations has been kept under wraps by the county board.

Suggestions have been made that initial interviews for the post may have taken place this week.
