Local Saint Vincent De Paul branches, including those in Donegal received 30 calls an hour from parents worried about meeting back to school costs.
The demand for SVP’s services is up almost 20% compared to last year.
SVP Area President for Letterkenny, Cormick McCormack explained that due to the rising pressures on the household budget, meeting the cost of going back to school was almost impossible for some parents.
He also added in order for the charity to meet demand, they urgently need more volunteers:
