Council responds to ongoing safety concerns near Aura Leisure Centre

In response to ongoing concerns over road safety at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny, Donegal County Council has confirmed again that the road is unsuitable for the installation of ramps.

Local residents have repeatedly called for traffic calming measures to be put in place along the route in a bid to slow traffic down.

Donegal County Council have confirmed that the National Transport Authority has allocated €250,000 to develop proposals for 11 separate active travel schemes in Letterkenny with one of them being the route from Ballymacool to the Lower Main Street.

Consultants are now due to propose options for the development of a scheme that would enhance this section of the road for travel.
