‘Taoiseach needs energy guarantees from new PM’ – MEP Markey

A Midlands North West MEP is urging the Taoiseach to seek an urgent meeting with British Prime Minister Liz Truss to discuss potential gas rationing this winter.

Three quarters of Ireland’s gas supply comes from the UK which has led Colm Markey to call for engagement with Ms Truss on the prospect of gas shortages in the coming months.

He says its vital a plan is put in place between Ireland and the UK:
