Dail hears calls for urgent action on cost of living crisis

A Donegal Deputy has called for an urgent response from the Government to the cost of living crisis.

Speaking in the Dail last night, Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn suggested the government should cut and cap electricity charges to pre-crisis levels and make targetted payments to those most in need.

In response to the motion on household bills assistance, Minister Eamon Ryan said energy is being used as a weapon of war and says the government is aware of the difficulties and pressures facing families.
