Sinn Féin is calling on the government to reduce rents by putting one month’s rent back into people’s pockets.
The budget will be announced earlier than normal this year, on September 27th, with an immediate package of supports promised by ministers, including measures for those in private rented accommodation.
However Sinn Fein’s Rose Conway-Walsh says a rent refund would help struggling tenants who are being let down by the Government continuously falling behind on its own housing targets:
