Coyle sickened with London postponement

Saturday’s meeting of Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Junior has officially been called off which also means Conor Coyle’s WBA Intercontinental Middleweight title fight has also been benched in London.

Fight promoter Eddie Hearn had sought an injunction to allow the fight to go ahead after the British Boxing Board of Control prohibited it from happening following Benn’s tested positive for a banned substance in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency test.

Coyle’s fight with Felix Cash was another of the top fights on the Wembley bill.

The Derry man took to social media to say

” I am sickened. Two months away from my kids & family to be dropped last minute like this over someone else’s mistake. I’m sorry for people who booked hotels and flights to come over. It was all out of my control”.

He added,  “More news to follow in the coming days about my fight. Coyle Vs Cash will still happen, it has to.”
