Evidence against a former British paratrooper accused of two murders on Bloody Sunday over 50 years ago will be heard in January.
The committal hearing of Soldier F will determine whether there’s sufficient evidence to proceed to a trial before the Crown Court in Belfast.
The soldier is accused of the murders of James Wray and William McKinney when members of the Parachute Regiment shot dead 13 civil rights protesters on the streets of Derry.
The proceedings are due to last a number of weeks, but will not sit on the anniversary of the killings on January 30th.
The Public Prosecution Service recently resumed the case – after initially calling a halt amid concerns it would collapse if it went to trial.
