A pilot scheme has seen over 400 venues across the country awarded a share of €4 million to try and revitalise the night time economy.
The money, shared between 434 venues including pubs, nightclubs, cafes, theatres and other cultural venues, will assist more than 2,000 live events in the next year according to the Department of Tourism and Culture.
Dry premises have been awarded more than €434,000 in funding, and in total 252 venues in towns and villages outside of cities have been awarded money in an attempt to restart the night time economy in rural areas.
