Donegal native and Senator Robbie Gallagher has been appointed as Government Whip in the Seanad.
The Cavan-Monaghan representative was previously selected to run in the next General Election for Fianna Fail.
His party leader and the Tanaiste, Micheal Martin, says he looks forward to working with Senator Gallagher in the upcoming term.
