Rural Independent Group leader welcomes Omagh bomb inquiry

The Leader of the Rural Independent Group has welcomed the British Government’s order of an independent inquiry into the Omagh bombing.

Mattie McGrath says it’s a crucial step in finding justice for both victims and their families.

29 people died, following the planting of a bomb by dissident republicans, in August 1998.

Deputy McGrath has called on the Taoiseach to push for a similar investigation here.
