Donegal is one of the least afforested counties in Ireland.
That’s according to CSO figures published today which show a 13% increase nationally from 2021 to 2022.
Last year, 21 hectares of land was afforested in Donegal, one less than in 2021.
The county had 64 acres of afforested land in 2018.
That figure has been in decline since.
