Six cars were taken off the road in Derry following a weekend safety operation by the Foyleside and Moor Neighbourhood Policing Teams along with the Driver & Vehicle Agency.
Among issues detected were unfit-for-purpose tyres, defective parts and a broken subframe.
As a result prohibition notices were issued to six drivers, as well as fifteen fixed penalty notices.
Those issued for detective tyres and brakes, illegal modifications and an excessive window tint.
