The future of senior soccer in Donegal is now dependent on Finn Harps getting a new stadium – That was the blunt message at a pre-season media briefing on Monday evening.
The club is in talks at the moment at the highest levels to drive their stadium project forward, and an announcement regarding a major fundraising drive to complement state and FAI funding is expected in the coming days.
The sod for the new stadium was turned back in 2008, but it was being dogged by delays which have left Harps in a situation where the current ground is just not up to scratch.
Highland Radio’s Chris Ashmore spoke with Harps commercial officer Aidan Campbell who outlined the seriousness of the situation.
