The Government have announced the approval of a new veterinary school in Letterkenny.
Currently there is only one other in UCD.
Two other new schools were announced for Mountbellew in Galway and Kilkenny.
MEP Barry Cowen has welcomed the news and announced plans for a new scholarship programme for veterinary students.
