Gardaí have issued advice to those planning to go out this festive party season.
They say they have had to arrest at least one driver, every hour of every day this year so far, for driving while intoxicated.
They are urging people to be the designated driver or agree one among your group, pre-book a taxi or use public transport and always make sure that you are alcohol free and rested before getting in the car to drive the following morning.
