Half of all vehicles tested last year failed the NCT.
Data published by cartakeback.ie shows Cavan has the highest failure rate in the country, followed by Athlone and Carrick-on-Shannon.
Over 1.7 million NCTs were carried out last year – with the majority of failures for steering and suspension problems.
According to latest figures from NCT, 53% of vehicles tested in Donegal last year failed.
