The former Austins Department Store in Derry has been acquired by the Inner City Trust.
It’s part of a £1.2 million grant announced today by the North’s Communities Minister Gordon Lyons.
The funding in the short term, will go towards the purchase of the landmark building and restoration works.
The aim is to eventually, create an open and accessible space while protecting and preserving the listed building.
