115 in Donegal to be granted Irish citizenship today

Over 7,500 people will be granted Irish citizenship in Dublin today, with 115 of those living in Donegal.

Over seven ceremonies will be held over two days, with applicants from 143 countries around the world and living in 32 counties on the island of Ireland being conferred as Irish citizens.

Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan will be in attendance.

He says the new citizens will be welcomed “as full members of society, and their contributions will undoubtedly strengthen the fabric of our nation.”
