Donegal County Council is being urged to appoint park wardens for the two town parks in Letterkenny.
Cllr Gerry McMonagle told a meeting of Letterkenny Milford Municipal District that safety concerns are being raised by the public.
In a response, officials indicated that a security company is contracted to close the park and do a patrol of the park at the end of the day, and an extension of that contract to encompass day patrols is being considered.

Officials added there is no additional funding available for the introduction of Park Wardens or Park Rangers, and such a move would likely require bye laws.
