A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in the Brandywell area of Derry last night.
The blaze broke out at Bluebell Hill Gardens at around 11pm.
No injuries were reported, however significant smoke and fire damage was caused to the property.
While there were no occupants in the house at the time of the fire, a number of neighbouring properties were evacuated to allow emergency services to deal with the blaze.
The 38 year old man remains in custody at this time.
