It has emerged that there are currently no plans to reopen Glenveagh Castle on a seven-day-a-week basis.
This was revealed in a parliamentary answer given to Deputy Pearse Doherty.
As it stands, the castle is closed every Monday and Friday, with staff shortages cited as the reason.
Local Cllr John Sheamais Ó Fearraigh is now calling on the National Parks and Wildlife Service to take immediate steps to fully reopen the castle.
