Public urged to report the use or sale of fireworks to Gardaí in Donegal

People in Donegal are being reminded to report the use or sale of fireworks to Gardaí.

They are reminding the public that it is illegal to possess, supply, or light fireworks, or to throw a lit firework at a person or property.

The penalty for these offenses is a fine of €10,000, 5 years’ imprisonment, or both.

Gardaí say the use of fireworks can cause injury, distress to people and animals and damage to property with fire.
