Paraglider rescued from roof of hotel in Fermanagh

A paraglider has been hospitalised after they crashed onto the roof of a hotel in Fermanagh.

It occurred at the Lough Erne Golf Resort near Enniskillen at around 1pm yesterday.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service says they received a ‘Special Service Call’ at 12.51pm.

Three appliances, two from Enniskillen and one from Lisnaskea, the Specialist Rescue Team and a Turntable Ladder attended the scene.

The man was rescued from the second floor roof of the hotel.

Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, he was taken to South West Acute Hospital.

Lough Erne Resort have released a statement, saying the main hotel complex had been closed at the time.

It has since reopened to the general public, with the hotel wishing the patient well.
