The Irish Kidney Association is calling for immediate investment to address the drop in organ donations.
202 transplant operations were carried out in 2025, a 23% drop on the number carried out last year.
There are almost 700 people on waiting lists for organ transplants, with almost 80 per cent of those needing a kidney operation.
