
Motorists are facing a sharp increase in fuel costs to start the year, with petrol and diesel prices set to rise by between 4 and 6 cent per litre.
Fuels for Ireland says over the past five years, combined duties, taxes and levies – including the 2026 increases – have added around €19 to the cost of filling a typical 60-litre tank.
