Anniversary of Storm Éowyn marks renewed calls for action

It’s one year since Storm Éowyn made landfall,  disrupting power at over 700 thousand properties, and causing widespread damage throughout the country.

Gusts of 150km/h were recorded at Finner weather Station in Donegal, the second highest in the country and setting a new record at the observation site.

Green party leader Roderick O’Gorman believes Government could have done more over the past 12 months, to prevent similar disruptions from happening again.

He says one step would be to enact new legislation:
