President Catherine Connolly gives a civic address in Derry

President Catherine Connolly is in Derry today on the second day of her visit to Northern Ireland.

This morning, she arrived at the Guildhall to deliver a civic address.

In her address, the president complimented the spirit of the people of Derry, particularly in terms of reconciliation.

She paid tributes to the families of the victims of Bloody Sunday, commenting that “justice is still awaited”.

President Connolly told the gathering there are many strands to the peace process, and acknowledging that is an important part of this visit……..
