Uisce Éireann is advising customers in South Donegal that essential reservoir cleaning works will be taking place this week.
These planned works are necessary to maintain and protect the water supply for homes and businesses in the area.
While bypass systems are in place for most reservoirs, helping to minimise disruption, some customers may experience reduced water pressure or temporary discolouration during or after the works.
Today, crews will be conducting reservoir cleaning in the Ballymagroarty Water Supply Area followed in the afternoon by works within the Ballyshannon Water Supply Area.
Tomorrow morning, crews will be working at Rath Reservoir, which feeds the Ballymagroarty Water Supply, with work continuing in the Ballyshannon Water Supply Area on Tuesday afternoon.
Works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm and crews will endeavour to complete the essential cleaning works and restore the supply to normal levels as quickly as possible.
Uisce Eireann say these works are essential to safeguard the quality and reliability of the water supply and crews will work diligently throughout the cleaning process to ensure that any disruptions are kept to a minimum for customers.
They added that they understand the inconvenience when planned works like this occur and thank customers for their patience.
