Donegal County Council is being asked to ensure new road works in Letterkenny do not begin until after the morning rush hour and finish before evening peak traffic.
The call follows a motion at the Letterkenny–Milford Municipal District from Councillor Thomas Seán Devine, who told members similar arrangements operate north of the border.
Officials said the planning and scheduling of works already considers the potential impact on traffic, but Cllr Devine believes more can be done:
