
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary following reports of suspicious activity around homes in Derry.
It was reported that two men were trying the door handles of a car and a house in Hillview Avenue at around 3.20am yesterday morning.
One of the men, aged 34, was later spotted on a bike and in possession of a set of car keys which were not his own and two screwdrivers and was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary, attempted burglary and vehicle interference. He has since been released on bail.
Police are continuing efforts to locate the second man, wearing a balaclava at the time, and are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.
