50,000 more families will receive the Fuel Allowance payment from next week.
As outlined in the Budget, the scheme is being expanded to include those in receipt of the Working Family Payment.
The measure comes into effect next week and will be backdated to January, meaning families will receive up to €380 on March 12th.
More than 470,000 households are now being supported by the Fuel Allowance.
