A Midlands North West MEP has told the European Parliament that farmers, contractors, road hauliers and households are facing a rapidly escalating cost crisis.
Speaking in Strasbourg, Ciaran Mullooly said the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism is increasing fertiliser costs for farmers, and now, rising oil prices are compounding the situation.
He called for action to address the crisis, including the release of EU oil reserves……..
