One person rushed to hospital by air ambulance after huge fire broke out in Omagh

It’s been confirmed one person was rushed to hospital this morning after a large fire broke out at a commercial premises at Doogary West Industrial Estate on Bankmore Road in Omagh.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service says the initial call was received at 7.19am this morning.

There are currently 15 Fire Appliances, over 100 Firefighters, an Aerial Appliance, a High Volume Pump, 2 Water Tankers and a Command Support Unit in attendance at the incident, which is ongoing.

They’ve now confirmed one casualty was treated by Firefighters at the scene and transferred to the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, before being transported to hospital via the air ambulance.

The Bankmore Road has been closed at both the A5 and Crevenagh Road ends, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area to support ongoing firefighting operations.
