
There were 7,247 people on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of March, a 3% fall on the same period last year.
The numbers fell in all but one of the county’s social welfare offices, with a very small increase registered in Letterkenny.
The sharpest year on year fall of almost 8% was recorded in Dungloe, where there were 753 people on the register.
There were 440 signing on in Donegal Town, a 7% decrease.
Ballybofey and Ballyshannon both recorded falls of 6%, with 897 and 804 people on their respective registers.
There was a 3% fall recorded in Killybegs with 358 people signing on, a 2% fall in Dunfanaghy with 487 on the register there, while Buncrana’s total of 1,399 represents a year on year fall of 1%.
There were 2,109 people signing on in Letterkenny, an increase of .03%.
