Gardai and RSA launch Easter Road Safety Campaign

Gardai are warning drivers to be vigilant over the coming days, with bank holiday weekends being one of the busiest times on Irish roads.

An extensive Garda operation is now in place to monitor road users.

The launch of this road safety campaign comes a day after the death of a cyclist who died following a collision with a truck in Dublin city centre yesterday.

Over 40 people have now died on Irish roads this year and the Gardai are warning that the possibility of road traffic accidents are higher during the bank holiday weekend, with more people travelling around the country.

Drivers are being asked to always drive within the speed limit, watch out for vulnerable road users, wear a seatbelt and never use a mobile phone when behind the wheel.
