Gardaí are warning of a scam involving callers posing as members of the force.
The fraud involves WhatsApp calls where scammers use the Garda crest as a profile image to try to obtain personal and banking details.
People are being urged not to share sensitive information over the phone and to verify any such calls directly with their local Garda station.
Anyone affected is advised to contact their bank immediately and report the incident to Gardaí.
