Rising costs have set back several road projects in Donegal.
Donegal County Council says 11 road contracts have fallen through, with some bitmac works delayed after successful tenderers withdrew.
The situation is described as “fluid”, with further disruptions possible as costs continue to climb.
The Council says it will now re-tender the projects in line with Government guidelines, but admits the overall roads programme may have to be scaled back to match available funding.
