More than half of parents are worried about how they’ll pay this year’s back-to-school bills.
A new survey for Barnardos shows 7 in 10 parents are concerned about the cost of school uniforms, while more than half of secondary school parents have had to buy digital devices at an average cost of €450 euro.
Barnardos says some families are taking out loans or dipping into savings to cover the costs, and it’s calling on the Government to make school uniforms more affordable and reduce the cost of compulsory technology.
