Derry City and Strabane District Council is urging the public to be aware of invasive species, including Giant Knotweed.
The plant is known to spread rapidly, damaging gardens, parks, riverbanks, and local wildlife habitats.
The Council says disturbing or moving the plant can also contribute to its spread.
They are asking anyone who spots Giant Knotweed not to cut it, dig it up or move it, avoid disturbing the area and report sightings to them in order for them to be assessed and managed safely.
