The European Commission has decided to remove Brazil from the list of countries authorised to export certain meat products, including beef, to the European Union.
Midlands North West MEP Ciaran Mullooly says the decision vindicates the concerns raised by farmers and food-safety experts.
The decision can be appealed by Brazil in two years time.
