IFI following a “particular line of inquiry” into Crana River fish kill

Inland Fisheries Ireland has confirmed it is following a particular line of inquiry into the cause of a fish kill on the Crana Rive outside Buncrana on Friday evening, but is stressing it is very much a live investigation.

IFI spokesperson Milton Matthews told Highland Radio News this morning that in the region of 200 fish were killed, mostly juvenile salmon and trout.

He says this is a multi-agency investigation, with samples now being tested with efforts ongoing to determine what cause the incident…………
