A motion calling for proposed roadworks linked to Active Travel Plans to be suspended will be tabled at a meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District next week.
Councillor Ciaran Brogan is bringing the motion, with particular reference to proposed works on the Ballyraine Road to Tesco Roundabout and on Circular Road, from the hospital roundabout to Glencar.
The motion will also call for specialist traffic consultants to be appointed to identify solutions to Letterkenny’s traffic problems.
Meanwhile, Cllr Tomás Seán Devine will table a motion calling for a meeting with Gardaí and the roads section of Donegal County Council to discuss traffic management in the run-up to Christmas.
Cllr Brogan says proceeding with the proposed works would be a waste of money.
