Minister of Defence Helen McEntee will raise the killing of Private Séan Rooney during her visit to Lebanon today.
She is expected to thank Irish personnel for their service, while also meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Foreign Affairs Minister Youssef Rajji and Justice Minister Adel Nassar.
Discussions will include the death of Private Rooney, who was killed in an attack on a convoy of Irish Peacekeepers serving on a UNIFIL mission in 2022.
The inquest into his death is due to take place next month.
