Around 100 protesters gathered outside the Republic of Ireland football team’s Dublin base last night, calling for its upcoming games against Israel to be cancelled.
The demonstration at the Castleknock Hotel remained peaceful, with protesters chanting “Don’t play” after the names of Ireland players were read out.
Ireland are due to face Israel at a neutral venue in Hungary on Sunday, with a second meeting scheduled for Serbia on October 4.
Campaigners say they’re appealing directly to the players after efforts to have the fixtures called off were unsuccessful.
A protest will take place on the Port Bridge in Letterkenny tomorrow evening at 5pm.
