The Dail has heard a temporary package of energy measures will form part of the upcoming budget, with cost of living supports ‘woven’ throughout.
Tanaiste and Finance Minister Simon Harris is indicating supports would be in place for the winter period, saying ‘certainty’ is needed for those struggling.
He told TDs the most vulnerable will be protected.
There were clashes between Mr Harris and Donegal TD and Sinn Fein Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty, who told the Tanaiste the current fuel crisis can be laid at the government’s door because enough wasn’t done to keep energy prices down…………..
